Happy new Year!

A new year brings new commitments, experiences, and adventures! Here at the studio, we have a great deal of excitement built up for this coming semester. The winter recital was a HUGE success and we're absolutely blown away at how many people came to show their support for their loved ones. The room was standing-room only, which is not only exciting, but humbling as well.

With the great momentum we've built up here, please continue to spread the word for our services! The amount of students we have is always fluctuating because life just happens and sometimes lessons can move along with that. So please feel free to always tell your friends about our services - we work mostly by word of mouth, so we definitely appreciate that! :)

We wish the HAPPIEST of new years for you!

Much love,
Heather and Ryan

School's back in session, kids!

What a crazy couple of weeks it has been around here! School is back in session and everyone is busy running between lessons, games, practices, tutoring, etc. etc. etc. I've had to remind myself to slow down- pretty much on a daily basis... several times a day, in fact. With 60 hour work weeks life can be overwhelming, but nothing can free your mind from the stress of it all better than crankin' up a favorite tune and dancin' it out! I have to remember to laugh, to cherish, to appreciate, and to savor the fact that I'm tired doing what I love. Even if you're not doing what you love, you might be at least doing it with a few people you don't mind being around. :)

So please, take the time this fall to sit down at a piano with a favorite tune and just play. Just play. Just relax and enjoy the instrument, the feeling of your hands on the keys, and the vibrations in the room coming from your music making. That's what lessons are about: giving you a tool with which you can find peace, freedom, and joy.

Oh. And BOOMER! :)

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Easter always brings a wonderful sense of family and unity. Considering the difficulty that many families are experiencing right now as a result of recent storms here in Moore, we are all seeing the importance of family and connection. A couple of my students from school have actually lost their homes and are staying in a hotel. As their teacher, it is my job to be supportive and offer a shoulder to cry on, as well as create a peaceful and fun environment for them to focus on in the moment. Music is the bridge to create peace in the midst of chaos and disaster. We all know the story of the string quartet that kept playing until the last moment that the Titanic sunk, right? Music is a powerful force.

As we enter this Spring, embrace, grow, and learn. Use this time to re-energize your practicing and to gain some new tools to improve your talent! The practice room is where the magic happens, so make practicing your friend and not your foe. :)

This is a season of re-birth and rejuvenation! Renew your passions, find new passions, and get excited for the warm, relaxing summer that is quickly on its way!

Much love,
Heather

BUSY BEES!

Happy New Year to all! We have had an INCREDIBLY busy few weeks, but it's great to be a musician and be busy!

Ryan is now playing every Sunday (and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday as needed.) and is loving trying new techniques and sounds for each song during the services. Challenges are good! He's still going strong with The Suspects, The Recliners, Jason Young Band, and the occasional appearance in the Pink Floyd tribute band, Shine. It's so cool he gets to play literally every kind of music. Pretty sweet job, I must say!

Heather is crazy busy trying to get her choir kids prepped for district contest in February. Hopefully they can pull it together to bring home a big shiny plaque for their accomplishments!

If you have contacted us and we didn't get back to you, it's probably for the aforementioned reasons! So Heather will be responding to some contacts from last month and this month in order to get caught up and make sure you guys don't think we're bums!

Have a BEAUTIFUL week!

And here's an adorable picture of our pups at Christmas. :) Couldn't help myself.......
