If you have specific questions or would like to talk about hiring me, please call me at 405.703.9350

Rates:
  • $20/half hour lesson
  • $35/hour lesson

How/When to Pay:
  • Cash, Check, Credit Card, Cash App, Apple Pay (Checks are made out to Heather Appel-Bailey.)
  • Monthly at the beginning of the month for all lessons in advance. or bi-weekly (depending upon your paycheck schedule)
    • I do not accept payment on a weekly basis in order to ensure all lessons are pre-paid (unless there are extenuating circumstances).

Cancellation Policy:

  • I request to have 24 hour's notice if you are unable to make your lesson, otherwise you will forfeit your fee for that day. (You are essentially buying my time, so if I get enough notice you are unavailable, it is more feasible for me to fill that time with someone else at a later time.)
  • If 24 hour's notice is given, we will happily reschedule for later in the week or credit for the next month.
  • Late cancellations do not merit a rescheduled lesson.
  • Students are granted one freebie "late cancel" without financial penalty, after that, fees will be forfeited- students are buying our time slots, so fees must be paid if we aren't granted enough notice to fill the spot (24 hours).
  • If you choose to quit lessons for more than 4 weeks, or until further notice, we require a 2 week's notice. This gives me time to re-arrange any time slots or to find another student to fill that slot. If you do not give 2 week's notice, you will be required to pay for those two weeks. That would be a penalty of either $40 or $70, based on whether you're in a half-hour time slot or an hour time slot.

Styles/Services offered:
  • Classical and all Popular singing genres
  • OCDA/OMEA/COCDA/ECOCDA Honor Choir audition prep (please click here for practice resources for auditions!)

Ages and Abilities:
Ten to 110; Beginner to Professional:
As an educator, I feel it is my duty to have the student's best interest at heart. Therefore, I tend to not accept students younger than eight into the voice studio unless they've received or are receiving private or choral training elsewhere. Young voices are changing so drastically from day to day that any work on technique can be fruitless. Also, unless the student is an a very active, self-driven child, getting them to practice singing and really develop their instrument is often a struggle. So for those students, I suggest piano lessons instead. Piano lessons will reinforce rhythm, pitch, music reading, and aural skills, so that when they are older, the aural and musical components are already strong!

In rare instances where the student exhibits more than just an interest, rather, an ability that far exceeds their age (for example, they could legitimately have a chance at winning The Voice or the X Factor), then I am more than happy to have a consultation lesson with them to assess their ability and whether or not they are up for the challenge of voice lessons.

I also offer coaching for recording sessions in the RBH Studios or on site (for a small travel fee) or performances on a pick-up schedule. So if you just need one or two lessons here or there, please don't hesitate to contact me for a time!

Parents are not allowed in the lesson room as it becomes very distracting for the student.
